2008 war ein Hammer-Jahr für die beiden Wiener DJs, Produzenten und Elektronik-Tausendsassas SMACS & PATRICK KONG: Im November konnten sie dann als einziger österreichischer Act einen Track zur „Crazy Compilation“ – dem sehnsüchtig erwarteten ersten Release auf dem neuen Wiener Label FLEX Schallplatten – beisteuern. Und das neben Größen wie Booka Shade, Trentemoeller, John Dahlbaeck, Paul Kalkbrenner oder Modeselektor. Das nächste Highlight folgte Ende des Jahres, mit Kaptn Horst ein Remix für TOBITOBSEN (Moonbootica, 5 Sterne Deluxe) und MARC DEAL (Dance Electric) auf dem Hamburger Label „KlangGut Recordings“.

Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Produzenten und Remixer waren SMACS & PATRICK KONG 2006 in Clubs & auf Festivals im In- und Ausland unterwegs und sorgten für Begeisterung beim Publikum (u.a. Barcelona, Budapest, Köln, Berlin, Hamburg,...). Höhepunkt dabei war sicherlich der Auftritt beim Budapester SZIGET-Festival vor über 5000 Menschen.

Beide sind Resident Dj´s des legendären Wiener Clubs: FLEX .

2007 was an amazing year for the two DJ´s, producers and electronic- jack of all trades SMACS & PATRICK KONG:

In April, their first common remix-offer, under the project name DATADOSE; for the Japanese underground-heroes NO ARASHI, got released on Soundlab Entertainment. In November they were able to contribute a track to the “Crazy Compilation”, the first release of the new Vienna Label “FLEX Schallplatten”. They were the only Austrian act together with Names like Booka Shade, Trentemoeller, John Dahlbaeck, Paul Kalkbrenner or Modeselekto

The next highlight followed at the end of the year with Kaptn Horst – a remix for TOBITOB (Moonbootica, 5 Sterne Deluxe) and MARC DEAL (Dance Electric) on the German Label „KlangGut Recordings“.

Not only working as producers and remixers, SMACS & PATRICK KONG also travelled around Europe (Barcelona, Budapest, Köln, Berlin, Hamburg) and rocked the boat to the joy for the audience. One of the main acts was surely the performance in Budapest on the SZIGET-Festival with 5000 people.

Also 2007 promises something for he further career of SMACS & PATRICK KONG. On the Berliner Label “Rundlauf Musik” there will be soon their new remix-hit released for Jan Haufe aka ELTRON, who caused last year for a sensation with his “Firewall EP” for “Festplatten”
